I’ve always liked Brandon Sanderson. So I picked up a copy of this at my book store before I went away. I enjoyed it a lot.

It’s a good mix of Scifi action, and fantasy. The main character travels to an alternate dimension set in medievil times… but also with magic. On arriving, he immediately loses his memory, with the only thing on him to help a (partially exploded) copy of the frugal wizards handbook (which turns out to be 95% marketing material for thier ‘own your own low cost dimension’ products). The pictures and excerpts from the in story copy of the wizards handbook scattered throughout out are both hilarious and provide a nice short break from the story.

Overall I really enjoyed this one.
