I’ve been watching through Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. Here are my notes for season 2:

  • Nya now seems to be the team’s mechanic/engineer. Nice.
  • The first episode with Dareth, and I spent most of it wondering ‘is this man even sober?’ Decided I like him. There is that one scene where he jumps in to protect his dojo kids with zero hesitation, even though he was no fighting skills. Also, somehow he’s taught his dojo kids to fight anyway… so?
  • Me like shouldn’t you start tiny little Lloyd on something less than 10 chunks of wood… holy crap I stand corrected. Okay, so Lloyd is like… almost a tad overpowered. But absolutely no idea how to fight. Yes training needed.
  • I’m starting to feel sorry for the snakes, because Garmadon is straight up abusive. He does get launched into the ocean ’cause of how he’s been treating them though. Serves him right.
  • Okay the ninjas are now children. Clearly they are going to learn to give Lloyd a break between training and let him have at least some time to be a kid and…. NOPE this was not where this was going. Lloyd is now a big boy, and his powers have scaled up accordingly.
  • Lloyd understandably mad at his mum but yay they made up. I did expect her to have a bit more of a comment on the fact her child is now… not a child. Maybe she really did have her head in the books or something and lost track of time.
  • Wu and Misako seem to have a thing.
  • Yeah Misako has skills total bad ass.
  • Garmadon no don’t take the hat… he took the hat.
  • Aw, Zane lost the falcon but he found his dad. 😊😊 Also the robot guy being the kindest to animals and probably the most empathetic? Yeeees aannnd he’s gone to rescue the bird; Zane no.
  • Oh yep. Lloyd doesn’t really want to have to fight his dad. Garmadon doesn’t want to fight him. How does Garmadon manage to look so vulnerable? I cannot blame Lloyd for not taking the shot.
  • Did… did the saw bot just pee on the other vehicle to put out the fire 🤣🤣🤣
  • Garmadon sees Misako for the first time in presumably years, and immediately looks uncomfortable about his extra arms.
  • Garmadon wants to turn everyone evil so he won’t be alone? Dang.
  • And okay he’s what a possessed werewolf dragon now? No qualms about beating the absolute shit out of Lloyd, which he does. Still kids show appropriate, but man, that looked like it hurt. Aw kiddo, he’s limping 😭
  • After all that, Lloyd is the one encouraging everyone. Yes, this kid. This was the exact moment my brain switched from worrying about him to ‘hold up this kids got grit, yeah he’s got this.’
  • Oh, they got Garmadon back. Yes. I was getting worried Lloyd was gonna have to actually put him down.
